Size Guide

Getting the right fit is everything in dancewear. Use this guide to find your size before you order — and if you're ever between sizes, we've included fit notes to help you decide.

A quick note on sizing: Baiwu garments run true to the sizes below as a general guide, but exact measurements can vary slightly style to style. For the most accurate fit, always check the size chart listed on the individual product page before ordering — this reflects the specific measurements for that garment.

How to Measure Yourself

Chest / Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor.

Waist: Measure around your natural waistline — the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above the navel.

Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, approximately 20cm below your natural waist.

Front Girth (for leotards): Measure from the top of one shoulder, down the front of the body, through the crotch, and back up to the top of the other shoulder.

Height: Stand barefoot against a wall and measure from the floor to the top of your head.

💡 Always measure over underwear only, not over clothing. Use a soft tape measure and keep it snug but not tight.

Women's Leotards

Leotards should fit snugly against the body without restricting movement. The fabric should lie flat with no pulling at the crotch or gaping at the back.

Size Label Approx. UK Size Height (cm) Chest (cm) Waist (cm) Hips (cm)
160 / Small 6–8 155–163 80–84 62–66 86–90
165 / Medium 8–10 163–168 84–88 66–70 90–94
170 / Large 10–12 168–173 88–92 70–74 94–98
175 / XL 12–14 173–178 92–96 74–78 98–102

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up for comfort and freedom of movement.

Measurements vary slightly by style. For the exact chest, waist, hip and front girth measurements of the leotard you're ordering, check the size chart on that product's page.

Children's Leotards

Children's leotards should fit close to the body with no excess fabric. Allow a little room for growth, but avoid sizing up too much as this can affect movement and appearance.

Size Label Age (approx.)
130 6–7 Years
140 8–10 Years
150 12–14 Years

Heights and measurements are guidelines only — every child grows differently. When in doubt, check the specific product page for that style's measurements, or measure first.

Note: not every style is available in every size — check the product page for sizes currently offered.

Women's Dance Skirts

Skirts are sized using the same size labels as our leotards, and are fitted primarily by waist. Most styles have an adjustable wrap tie or elasticated waistband for a comfortable, secure fit during movement.

Size Label Approx. UK Size
160 / Small 6–8
165 / Medium 8–10
170 / Large 10–12
175 / XL 12–14

Skirt lengths and exact waist measurements vary by style — check individual product pages for full details.

Ballet Shoes

Ballet shoes should fit snugly with no excess fabric at the toe. They will soften and mould to the foot with wear. If you are between sizes, size down.

UK Size EU Size
3 36
4 37
5 38
6 39
7 40
8 41
9 42
10 43

To find your foot length, stand on a piece of paper, trace around your foot, and measure from heel to longest toe.

Ballet Tights

Tights should feel supportive without digging in at the waist. They are designed to stretch, so a snug fit is normal and correct.

Adult — One Size

Designed to comfortably fit a range of body types. If you're unsure whether they'll work for you, feel free to get in touch before ordering.

Sizing & Exchange Policy

We want you to love how your dancewear fits. If your item doesn't fit as expected, we offer exchanges for a different size, subject to stock availability. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and returned in their original packaging with tags attached.

Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to arrange an exchange. We recommend checking this size guide — and the specific product page for your item — carefully before ordering, as we're unable to accept returns or exchanges on items that have been worn or washed, or on Sample Edit pieces, which are final sale.
